Kicking my Sugar Addiction, Finally?

Week 1 of sugar challenge –

If you follow me on social media you already know that I have started a challenge for the month of March.

I decided to do a sugar challenge for the month of March.  With time change and spring only a few days away, I wanted to do something that would challenge me and maybe even see some big results.

Why Give Up Sugar

Before I give all these reasons for giving up sugar let me say the sugar I am speaking of is added sugar, so your table sugar, high fructose corn syrup and any other sweetener that is labeled as added sugar on the nutritional food list.

Keeping this in mind, I do have some rules but I will share them at the end.

When I was pregnant with all of my children I suffered from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, so I was throwing up the entire time, had very little appetite and lost a lot of weight.  For context when I got pregnant with my first child my start weight was about 195 lbs, when I left the hospital I weighed 165 lbs.  And this happened with all three of my children.  Now suffering from terrible morning sickness was not the only commonality, I also recognized that when I was able to eat if I had cookies, cakes, or candy my physical reaction was even worse.

Now all of my life I have had a major sweet tooth so to not be able to eat and then to have no sugar for 9 months and seeing such weight loss while pregnant it made me think maybe cutting sugar is where I should start.  And this brings me to week 1 of my challenge.

Now I was all ready to get started on March 3rd but I wanted to see what my eating was like and so I decided to track my eating. It was nothing fancy I wrote down everything I ate and the amount of added sugar in each item.

Official Day 1 of me kicking my sugar addiction but I need to see where I am at..I have started challenges, and it quickly went downhill all from I’ll preparation. So, this time around I am taking stock on where I am and making adjustments as I go. I am jotting down everything I eat for the next week, no changes to my eating I really should have done this last week but again I wasn’t prepared..#sugara #weightloss #menopause

But here is what I looked at the beginning, start weight 205

Now this is me being fully transparent so as you momma should have said if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything..

But for real I am sharing because I want to be accountable to myself and maybe you are inspired so stay tuned as I see what the sugar challenge reveals.
